
The site has an interpretive center which explains to visitors the interesting history of this wetland and natural values \u200b\u200bthat account.
The lake is surrounded by a path along which there are several elevated positions from which bird watching, a few feet away, observe the evolution of the large population of birds that live in this wetland. The reeds, birch, oak or poplar riparian natural color complement the landscape.
Fifty years ago, these places were considered unhealthy, mosquito and source of infection, so that in the sixties, the Institute for Agrarian Reform and Development (IRYDA) proceeded drying them for farmland. The same fate struck in those years orensana Antela Laguna, the largest in Galicia.
Besides the drying of the lake, Cospeito proceeded to the installation of agricultural colonies called : design new towns emerged state, from a interventionist conception of agricultural policy.
Twenty years later, and with a different mindset, IRYDA proceeded to recovery of the lagoon, which currently has 5 ha . Today Cospeito again a reference natural space within Galicia and a place that pays worth visiting.
