E ste weekend I went through the English city. It was twenty years since I visited that city. Any resemblance to my memories is purely coincidental. The brutal urban development in the last ten years has surrounded the city of Avila with a new wall of concrete blocks and terraced houses where nobody lives.
The new neighborhoods without life, the rubble of the unfinished works, the plots into squares and impersonal, roundabouts, roundabouts with sculptures countless ridiculous ... Avila has become a city where urban ugliness has been exalted as a sign of identity.
